Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, password, and whether you are a veteran or civilian supporter.

Profile information: You may choose to provide your branch of service, years served, location, photos, biography, and compatibility profile answers.

Verification documents: If you choose to verify your veteran status, you may submit a DD-214, VA card, or military email address. Documents are stored in an encrypted private storage bucket and accessed only by our verification team.

Messages: Conversations between matched users are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read the content of your messages.

Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the Platform, including pages visited, features used, and session duration.

Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full payment card details.

To match you with compatible members
To verify your veteran status when requested
To process subscription payments
To send platform notifications and, where permitted, marketing communications
To improve and maintain the Platform
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:

With other members: Your public profile information (name, photos, bio, branch, location) is visible to other authenticated members according to your visibility settings.
Service providers: We use Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (payments), Resend (email), and LiveKit (video). These providers process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Verification documents are deleted after your verification is complete. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at privacy@devotionaftervictory.com.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive documents, and end-to-end encryption for messages. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@devotionaftervictory.com. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Vercel Analytics collects anonymized usage data to help us improve the Platform.

8. Children's Privacy

Devotion After Victory is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has registered, we will terminate the account immediately.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
